What is Cerbo GX and what does it do

  • Communication & Control Center - Acts as a central hub for various Victron products, such as inverter/chargers, solar charge controllers, batteries, etc.
  • Venus OS Operating System - Runs Venus OS, for efficient management of all connected devices.
  • Local and Remote Access
Local - via GX Touch display (5″ or 7″), web browser, VictronConnect App, or MFD on board (NMEA/marine standards)
Remote - via Victron Remote Management (VRM) gateway, with actions such as remote system control, notifications and firmware updates
  • Connection to a multitude of sensors and devices - Includes ports for VE.Direct (e.g. MPPT, battery monitor), VE.Can, BMS-CAN, VE.Bus, Ethernet, Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz), Bluetooth, USB, HDMI for GX Touch, temperature detectors, liquid level sensors (tanks), digital inputs, relay, micro-SD for data storage, etc.
  • Extremely flexible interface - Easily connects to MFDs, NMEA 2000 systems, generators (with automatic start/stop), solar or wind sensors, and compatible lithium batteries.
  • Automations & Node-RED - With the ability to configure automations via Node-RED, for smart control and management flows.

Functions & Software

Venus OS: Starring in monitoring with dashboard, real-time information on charging, battery status, levels tank and other environmental measurements
Full control: You can turn generators on/off, set limits, receive notifications
Automations via Node-RED: For advanced automation flows and connections to APIs and external devices

  • Marine: Integrated into ships, with control from MFD and NMEA 2000 interface
  • Energy Storage Systems: Charging management, load reservations (peak shaving), autonomy
  • Off-grid (e.g. vanlife, vacation homes): Solar energy priority, automatic generator starts when needed, “quiet” periods
  • Hybrid systems: Remote management of multiple installations, customized alerts, automations with Node-RED
